Government announces invitation to tender for veterinary services is now open

AHVLA have published an Invitation to Tender to enable them to set up a framework of providers for a wide range of veterinary services. These services cover all types of practice and do not include TB testing.

The services fall into nine lots:

1.      Veterinary Personnel

2.      Animal health and animal care technicians and support staff

3.      Drop-in facilities

4.      Surveillance and diagnostic services

5.      Vaccination

6.      Stand-by services for animal or public health

7.      Training and Education

8.      Advisory Services

9.      Veterinary Research

Tenderers will bid to be part of a Framework and mini-competitions will then be used to award Call-Off Contracts for pieces of work as they arise.

Tenderers can bid for one or more of the Lots, and each Lot will be evaluated separately. As mentioned above, the Framework Agreement is to be a UK-wide Framework, but within that tenderers may specify geographical regions within which they will be able to provide services.

The deadline for tenders is 12pm on 28 July 2014 with the deadline for clarification questions from interested parties 12pm on 21 July 2014. The Framework start date will be 1 October 2014.

AHVLA will be holding a Clarification Question & Answer Day which will be open to all Tenderers on 25 June 2014 from 12pm -2pm.  Tenderers will need to confirm that they wish to attend via the BRAVO system by 18 June.

If you are thinking about bidding, you can find more information by registering on the Defra e-tendering portal, BRAVO (https://defra.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml).
