PSS and RVPP fees for 2016-17 now due

The annual fees for practices to remain on the Register of Veterinary Practice Premises or, if accredited, in the Practice Standards Scheme for 2016–17 are now due.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons holds the Register on behalf of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and has now sent invoices for the RVPP fee to all practice premises not currently accredited under the PSS to remind them that the fee is due before 1st April.

Under the VMD’s Veterinary Medicines Regulations, veterinary surgeons may only supply veterinary medicinal products (with the exclusion of AVM-GSL products) from registered veterinary practice premises.

Practices accredited under the PSS have the RVPP fee incorporated into the Scheme’s annual fee which also needs to be paid before 1st April. The annual fee for the PSS has increased to £413.20 (including VAT) for main or standalone premises and £113.20 (including VAT) for branch premises. These fee increases are to allow the College to better deliver some of the new benefits of the relaunched Scheme. Compliance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations is checked as part of the PSS assessment process.

Practice premises that are not RCVS-accredited pay the RVPP fee only and may be subject to inspection by the VMD during the course of the registration year (from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017), to check they are compliant with the regulations and for which they have to pay an additional fee.

The RVPP and PSS fees can be paid to the RCVS by cheque, bank transfer or BACS and details of how to pay are contained in the invoice.

Practices that are not RCVS-accredited should contact the Registration Department on 020 7202 0707 or rvpp@rcvs.org.uk if they have questions or concerns; RCVS-accredited practices should contact 020 7202 0767 or pss@rcvs.org.uk.
