RCVS launches 1CPD

RCVS will be launching 1CPD, their new learning and development platform next week. 1CPD will replace the Professional Development Record as means of planning, recording and reflecting on your continuing professional development. 

The launch of 1CPD accompanies and facilitates a number of other policy changes around how RCVS assess CPD. These are the introduction, from 1 January this year, of an annual CPD requirement for both veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses, and an outcomes-based CPD model which emphasise the role of reflection in professional development.

Although the outcomes-based element of these changes won’t become mandatory until January 2022, RCVS recommend that you incorporate ‘reflection’ in your cycle of planning, doing and recording CPD as soon as possible.

Your 1CPD account will be accessible from next Monday 27 January. In the meantime, RCVS will transfer all of the data you may have saved in the PDR to 1CPD. To allow them to do this they will be closing access to the PDR at 6am on Friday 24 January.

If you undertake any CPD from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January, keep the details safe and enter them on 1CPD when it is ready.

1CPD will be available as an iOS and Android app and as a web version. You will be able to use the same log-in details for 1CPD as you currently do for My Account. You will no longer need your PDR username and password.
