Ceva rebrands urinary tract support supplement Feliway® Cystease™

Ceva Animal Health has rebranded its urinary tract support supplement for cats Feliway® Cystease™.

Feline idiopathic cystitis affects up to 10 per cent of cats, with 75 per cent of felines over 10 years of age suffering from the condition due to stress.  The new brand name will emphasise the importance of using Feliway Cystease (previously known as Cystease Advanced) alongside a Feliway® diffuser for optimal results.

Containing N-acetyl glucosamine and hyaluronic acid, which are key components of the protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer that lines the bladder, and L-tryptophan, which is proven to reduce stress-related behaviour in cats, Feliway Cystease is specially formulated to help restore bladder lining and reduce anxiety.

Ceva has also launched new consumer friendly packaging for Feliway Cystease to provide helpful hints and tips on how to manage feline idiopathic cystitis and reduce feline stress.  It includes information on giving careful consideration to a cat’s environment to help reduce stress, such as having a fixed feeding place for each cat, positioning the water bowl in a separate location from the feeding bowl, ensuring the cat has free and continuous access to outdoors and how the use of Feliway can optimise results.

“The gold standard treatment for feline idiopathic cystitis is to use Feliway Cystease in combination with a Feliway diffuser and environmental changes,” comments Claire Russell, consumer product manager at Ceva Animal Health. “The rebrand to Feliway Cystease and new packaging will encourage cat owners to follow this gold standard treatment and obtain optimal results.”

Feliway Cystease is taken orally and is available in pots of 30 and 300 tablets.  For further information, please contact your Ceva territory manager or call the customer support team on 01494 781510.
