Description

Townsend Veterinary Practice:You will be our New Graduate Vet Surgeon for our 3-site, dedicated small animal practice. Initially you will be working predominantly in our large Bromsgrove clinic which is well-geared for training and supporting graduate vets.  We have a lovely leafy environment, a large free car park and easy access to the local trains and motorway network for travel.   You will have an experienced mentor from day one, and work alongside a team of supportive vets and nurses, with varied case load and very interesting cases. Your new practice has invested in a range of high tech equipment in order to provide you with the best possible working environment and is RCVS PSS certified.

Your New Role: You will have a great rota with one Saturday in 3 and no out of hours. Averaging 40 hours, we aim to give a 4 or 4.5 day working week with minimal sole-charge until you feel ready.  Your medical skills will be used to their full potential and additional professional development will be supported and encouraged. We also undertake a large amount of charity work which gives opportunities to tackle procedures in-house where referral is not an option.  You will be joining our two year graduate programme which provides a new graduate with the essential skills and experience in a veterinary practice. This programme will give you the chance to develop and learn alongside highly skilled vets and nurses; two of our vets are training for certificates. You will be exposed to a range of different duties and experiences in order for you to find your preferred role and, when you feel ready, we hope to give you the opportunity to expand your horizons by working further afield at one of our partner clinics.

What you need to succeed: Enthusiasm!  You will also need to be registered with the RCVS as a qualified vet by the start date of the programme. You will need to be keen to take on any professional development opportunities that are available and committed to starting a career as a vet.   A UK driving license would be an advantage.

What you’ll get in return: You will receive a comprehensive range of benefits including:

  • You will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 for your vital work.
  • A pension scheme.
  • 5 weeks annual leave and bank holidays.
  • Paid professional fees.
  • A funded and supported CPD package.
  • A range of other employment benefits such as childcare vouchers and ride to work schemes.
