Description

We tried an Ad. for a vet to join our team, which we thought told you everything. We even had a “Head-hunter” tell us it was the best she’d seen in a while… but nobody applied.

So… we’ll try again with some basic facts about who we are & what we do… and then, if you are interested in working as part of a cool & inclusive team, check out our Ad. at cedarwoodvets.co.uk/recruitment and give us a call, email, FB message, send it on a pigeon, or hell… just show up & we’ll put the kettle on. We don’t bite!

Our practice/the job N.B. the drop down box didn't allow for flexibility, but we want the right person... new grad or 100 years' experience - just THE RIGHT PERSON :-)

Arlo Guthrie (vetsurgeon.org) has posted that applicants find it irritating when salary isn’t mentioned & I can empathise with this point of view, but we don’t HAVE a salary bracket… that depends on YOU! If you’re a new grad (just out of Vet School), then you won’t be getting £50K & if you’ve got a few years’ experience, you won’t even look at £30K, so, what to do? We WILL of course pay you but let’s have a chat first.

We live in Suffolk… its like The Shire – without the orcs (I jest not, we’ve had some orcs (nasty clients) here before… we sacked them. We still sack any that are horrible, because life is too short & sometimes too frenetic to deal with nasty people. That’s part of my job. The rest? Team harmony & providing YOU with everything YOU need to be the best that you can be! Simple, eh?

Although we are surrounded by bucolic charm, we’re only an hour from Stansted Airport (thence Europe & even the Americas…), an hour from Norwich Airport (thence Schiphol & the WORLD!) & 1.5 hrs. from London by train. So, if you like the sound of that, get on the blower!

Below is a summary of our practice… tell us what’s missing, oh yeah… equipment! We’ve got tons of that! We’ll even buy more if we all agree it’s needed.

In summary;

What we do;

What we DON’T do;

Treat every pet like it was our own

O.O.H.

Laugh

Crappy annoying clients

Cry – that’s OK, sometimes our job can be sad (said by a big roughty-toughty Scotsman!)

Hide when a colleague is struggling (instead, go help them… it could be you next time)

Eat cakes

Leave our mucky cups in the sink

Make each other cups of tea

Think we’re invincible

Hug puppies (everyone should)

Hide our frustrations (we talk about them)

Fix pets

Pretend we’re OK when we’re not

Fix owners

Bitch

Do our best

Blame others

Admit when we’re wrong

Assess your ability on the number of wormers you sold

Look after each other

Sole Charge

Help each other with difficult cases

Work Bank holidays

Seek help (referral) when necessary

Moan

Look after our distressed clients… it’s what you would want in that situation

Ignore great ideas… nobody has a monopoly on these

Four Day weeks

Shout at colleagues

Have a fantastic team of nurses to help you out of a muddle

Complex insurance claims – we’ve got an EXCELLENT Administration  Team for that J

Look, I’m getting finger cramp here… if any of the above floats your boat, let me know! There’s sooooooooo much more to tell you. We can be flexible on just about everything, question is, can you? Because… if you can… you’ll fit right in like a hand in a glove (or glub, as my niece used to call them)

Hear from you soon…
