Online CPD to support new BVD vaccine
To support the recent launch of Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica’s new Bovela® BVD vaccine, vets are being offered complimentary online CPD to highlight the revolutionary technology behind its development. The hour long, online presentation will be aired on the 27th May at 8pm and repeated on the 8th June at 8pm. It will be delivered by Peter Nettleton MBE BVMS MSc PhD MRCVS, previously of the Moredun Research Institute, and Matt Yarnall BVM&S MRCVS, Cattle Technical Manager at Boehringer.
Peter Nettleton, who has been involved with the BVD virus eradication scheme in Scotland and Cattle Health Certification Standards, delivers an update on the disease and covers key aspects of the ‘fascinating little virus’ that help explain the pathogenesis of BVD. He looks at disease transmission and epidemiology before concluding with an update on some recent major outbreaks in Europe.
This is followed by Matt Yarnall, who looks more closely at the new vaccine and explains how the genetic structure of the BVD virus influenced how it was developed. Key features of the vaccine are discussed, backed up by extensive studies that support the product’s safety and efficacy profiles.
The presentations on 27th May and 8th June are followed by a live Q&A session where the two presenters will be available to answer any questions posed by viewers. The presentations will also be available to view on-demand after 8th June.
