National pet charity StreetVet wins £100k

StreetVet, a charity which helps the pets of homeless people, won a competition held by Animal Friends Pet Insurance. They secured a staggering 22,000 out of the 45,000 public votes, after enlisting the help of VetHelpdirect for Vets, a team of digital experts with veterinary backgrounds. VetHelpDirect for Vets partnered with StreetVet to deliver a multi-channel social media strategy.

The prize fund will go towards continuing to provide accessible veterinary care for pets who live on the streets with their homeless owners. Sam Joseph, co-founder of StreetVet said; “VetHelpDirect for Vets has played an incredible role in helping to raise our awareness through social media marketing. As practising vets, we don’t have the time or cutting edge expertise to put into social media, but we know how valuable it is. Once we briefed VetHelpDirect for Vets on our goals, we were confident that they would represent our brand professionally and knowledgeably. Having the team’s support during this public voting campaign has been invaluable and the huge response just demonstrates their passion and ability to drive online awareness and engagement.”

Claire Simper, Social Media Manager at VetHelpDirect for Vets, states: “It is a great honour to be involved with such a worthy cause. Having spent years being more hands-on in the vet industry, it’s great to be helping those pets in need through the power of social media.”

StreetVet is a multi-award winning RCVS registered veterinary practice delivering free care to the homeless and their dogs on the streets of London, Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Cambridge, Plymouth, Southampton, Cornwall and Cheltenham. Find out more about the Vet charity here
