Award winning life coach to run BEVA workshop to help horse vets

Carolyne Crowe, veterinary surgeon and Life Coach of the Year 2015, is running a special BEVA workshop for vets and all members of the practice team, to help them cope more effectively with the pressures of being in practice. The all-day session will be held at the Royal Veterinary College, North Mymms on Wednesday 10th February 2016.

Carolyne has recently received the accolade of Life Coach of the Year at the 2015 International Coaching Awards. She was nominated by her clients for her work with veterinary teams and individuals and is now sharing her expertise with BEVA members to help them develop a better work-life balance.

The Workshop will provide delegates with the techniques and skills to cope better with the pressures of practice, become more efficient, effective and to make their life in practice more productive and ultimately more enjoyable. She will help them understand the difference between pressure and stress, how to identify strategies to recognise personal signs and symptoms of stress, and how to prevent stress burnout and compassion fatigue. She will guide them through the process of building personal resilience and will show how behavioural profiling can be used to make working with others more effective and less stressful. Ultimately the workshop should help them to improve their time management skills to make the most of the time they have and thus discover the elusive work-life balance.

The session is the first of several projects planned by BEVA to help address and support the needs of members who are striving for a better work-life balance. The initiative supports the conclusion of a vigorous Moral Maze debate held by members at the British Equine Veterinary Association Congress last September. 92% of voters agreed with the motion Does equine practice need to change to become more compatible with family life? The workshop this is ideal for all members of the practice team, including nurses and practice managers.
