NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR CEVA'S COVETED ANIMAL WELFARE AWARDS

With nominations now open, Ceva has announced the addition of new categories to its annual Animal Welfare Awards.

Now in its third year, the awards recognise volunteers, charity workers and veterinary professionals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to supporting and improving animal welfare around the world. Historically, the awards have recognised welfare in companion animals, but with the addition of the new Farm Animal Welfare Award, with support from the National Animal Disease Information Service(NADIS), Ceva has extended the criteria to those making a real difference in the farming sector as well.

Along with the farming category, Ceva has added three additional new categories to the 2014 awards round, celebrating charity teams and cat care champions. To widen the reach of the awards, prolific welfare organisations, including PDSA, Blue Cross, NADIS and International Cat Care, have lent their support to Ceva in their sponsorship of both new and existing categories.

The awards, which take place at the BSAVA Congress in April 2014, will be judged by a panel of esteemed industry professionals including Christopher Laurence MBE BVSc and Claire Bessant of International Cat Care.

Ceva managing director, Alan Doyle said: “There are so many individuals that share our vision and values to improve the welfare of animals so this is a fantastic opportunity to honour and champion these inspirational people. We look for volunteers, charity workers and veterinary professionals who have gone beyond the call of duty to really make a difference to the welfare of animals.

“The awards also provide us a platform on which to highlight important issues within animal welfare to the wider animal community.”
